"Director Timothy L'Ecuyer not only hooks into the dreaming world as the raison d'être for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, he takes it several steps further: he harvests the bounty from the realm of dreams and that of gender fluidity, first crafting an intoxicating blend of familiar dimensions and traditional sexual roles and then running it through a cockeyed distillery of imagination, fusing male with female and reality with illusion- in the end brewing a refreshing vintage of a story that bursts with a savory blend of the empirical and the impossible."

"L'Ecuyer and Pankhurst are obviously very good at what they do, playing up each other's strengths, helping their cast and one another fine-tune story, action and character..."

About Timothy.

Timothy L’Ecuyer is a theatre director and teaching artist with an interest in work that sits at the intersections of things: the collision of the classical and contemporary, the mundane and the eternal, the academic and the immediate. He has been the Artistic Director at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse since 2023, where he previously served at Director of Education (beginning in 2014). Mr. L'Ecuyer has BAs in theatre and English from Keene State College as well as an MA and MFA in theatre education from Emerson College.  He holds New Hampshire state teacher certifications in both English and theatre and has taught both subjects in New Hampshire high schools from 2005-2014. He is a former president of the New Hampshire Educational Theatre Guild, an Equity stage manager, and a lecturer in the Music, Theatre and Dance Department at Plymouth State University. He has worked with many New Hampshire and Boston area theatres including American Stage Festival, Barnstormers, theatre KAPOW, Peacock Players, StageCoach Productions, Greater Boston Stage Company, the Nora Theatre Company, and Underground Railway Theater.
